A single dad juggles parenting and working at a dystopian job where one slip-up can mean death. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi! I'm Jean, a Chinese-Malaysian filmmaker. 'Kairos' was first conceptualized during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, and shot in the summer of 2022 during my senior year at DePaul University in Chicago. I'm very grateful for the film festival run it's had over the past year, and am now sharing this 16:9 bundle of joy to the world. My hope for this film is not just to showcase the journey of a father and daughter struggling to understand each other's intentions, but to also bring the definition of the ancient Greek word 'kairos' to life; take the opportune moment to spend time with your loved ones before it passes the point of no return.
